The Best Pens to Use in Your Planner
Let’s just get this out in the open right now, I am a pen snob. I have searched high and low for the perfect pens to use in my planner. When I find a pen that I really like, I use it until the ink runs out. I will buy multiples of the same pen and keep them on my desk, in my desk, in my purse. I am also a little possessive, everyone in my house knows to not touch my pens. I have my favorite mug on my desk with MY pens in it.
Why a special pen?
So why do we need special pens for our planners? If you are anything like me, you use your planner to organize your life. There are five of us in our family and everyone has their own color. Plans change also. Some of us even doodle in our planners. Memories are kept in planners sometimes. I want to be using my favorite pen when I am writing in my planner. That special pen makes me feel like I can plan until the cows come home. That pen makes me feel creative.
What features are important to you?
Do you like to color coordinate members of your family? How about tasks, such as meal planning or sporting events? I need color. A lot of colors. We have a lot going on every week. I also need a fine point. I love my penmanship when I use a fine point. I keep my planners as memory keepers, therefore I want my writing to be legible and “pretty”. Most important to me, I need an erasable ink. Mistakes happen. Plans get changed or canceled altogether. Just like the backspace button on the keyboard, I can erase with my pens.
My favorite pens and why:
So, you want to know what my favorite pens are? Thank you for asking! My favorite pens are the Pilot Frixion Ball Knock Retractable Ink Pen, 0.7 mm. There are 10 pens in my favorite set. I use them all. My favorite color is turquoise, so that pen gets used a little more than others. These pens are so pretty just to look at! The eraser is the same color as the pen. I love that they retract. The gel ink is like no other I have used before. It does not skip, it does not have that little line that runs through when you press too hard. It’s just perfect. The fine point is amazing for a gel pen as well.
There you have it, my favorite pens to use in my planner. I cannot plan without them. So be a little selfish, you are worth it.
