So my husband loves to cook. He loves to experiment and throw this and that in the slow cooker or pan and see how it comes out. Everything always comes out delicious. When I cook, my kids call me Mrs. Burns. True story!!
So it took a few months to get him to actually measure everything out for this Slow Cooker Pulled Pork recipe. I hope you enjoy this as much as our family does.
The Best Slow Cooker Pulled Pork
Unwrap the pork loin and put it in the slow cooker. You do not need a fancy slow cooker with all the bells and whistles. I absolutely love mine, it has the chalkboard surface so you can write right on it when you take it to parties or potlucks.
Add the vinegar and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker. Vinegar is always the secret ingredient in my husband’s recipes.
Sprinkle the Liquid Smoke around the top of the loin.
Add the spices to the top of the loin as well. Just let them sit on top of the pork loin and soak through.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours.
MMM, mmm – smells delicious already! Now you want to pull the entire loin out and put on a plate. Skim that top layer of fat off and discard. DO NOT discard the liquid in the slow cooker, but be sure to remove any fat chunks that remain in there.
Return the pork loin to the slow cooker and shred. These meat shredders work great and make shredding quick.
Mix the shredded pork loin with the reserved liquid. Next you will want to add a whole 16 ounce bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce, or you can make your own. My favorite barbecue sauce for pulled pork is Sweet Baby Ray’s Hickory and Brown Sugar. Mix it through and let it sit for about 30 minutes on low or warm, letting all of the flavors marry.
Serve on your favorite rolls, whether that be hamburger rolls or gourmet hard rolls. Delicious!
